This Gear Housing Coupling is a genuine Makita replacement spare part and is designed to fit only the 2704 table saw. It is reference 56 on the diagram, and is attached to the riving knife, ref 24, (and knife holder, ref 50, and pressure plate, ref 49), and has two guide bars (refs 57 & 62) that run through it and are fixed by guide bar retainers (refs 59 & 61).

There is also the gear housing plate attached to it via a bolt (refs 54 & 55 respectively) and a screw bar (ref 73) that itself runs through a series of washers and bearings.
